Xingqing Prefecture (English spelling)

Japanese: 興慶府 - こうけいふ（英語表記）Xīng qìng fǔ

From the 11th to the 13th century, this was the capital of the independent Tangut state of Xixia. It is currently Yinchuan City in the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region. In the 5th century, it emerged as the base of the Helianbobo, and later Huaiyuan County was established there. In 1020, chief Li Deming established Xingzhou, and in 1038 (the first year of the Tenju-rei-fa Enjo era) his son Li Yuanhao, who gained independence, renamed it Xingqing Prefecture and made it the Chinese-style capital. It was later renamed Zhongxing Prefecture, but in 1227 it was captured by Genghis Khan. Nine Song-style royal tombs and numerous associated tombs remain on the eastern foot of the Helan Mountains, 25km to the west.

中国，11～13世紀にかけ，タングート(党項)族の独立国西夏の都のあった所。現在の寧夏回族自治区銀川市。5世紀赫連勃勃（かくれんぼつぼつ）の根拠地としてあらわれ，のち懐遠県が置かれた。1020年，首長李徳明は興州を置き，1038年(天授礼法延祚1)独立した息子の李元昊（りげんこう）は興慶府と改めて，中国風に国都とした。のち中興府と改めたが1227年，チンギス･ハーンに攻略された。その西25kmの賀蘭山の東麓には宋風の九つの王陵と数多くの陪葬墓が残っている。
