Confucianism - Kokyo

Also known as Confuciusism. A term used in the movement to make the worship of Confucius the state religion in China from the end of the Qing Dynasty to the beginning of the Republic. A debate was held between the proponents of this movement, such as Kang Youwei and Chen Huanzhang, and young intellectuals such as Chen Duxiu.
