A pathological mental state in which hallucinations come to the fore. In cases such as chronic alcoholism, when auditory hallucinations are severe and delusions occur, this is called alcoholic hallucinosis. Hallucinations are primarily auditory and visual, while delusions are primarily persecution delusions. This condition is seen not only in alcoholism, but also in cocaine addiction, stimulant drug addiction, and schizophrenia.
