[Old Testament]
In the original Hebrew text, which was created by Judaism, the Old Testament is divided into the Law (Torah), the Prophets (Nevi'im), and the Writings (Kesubim), and arranged in that order. In everyday life, Jews refer to this holy book as Tanakh, an acronym for the three sections, or Miqra', which means recitation. The structure of the original text, shown in the titles of the Japanese translation of the Bible, is as follows:
