Glyptal resin - Glyptal resin
An alkyd resin made primarily from glycerin and phthalic acid, named after the "gly" (from glycerine) and "phthalic" (from phthalic acid) (GE's product name). Glyptal resin has no uses on its own, and is modified by adding drying oil or unsaturated fatty acid to the system and used as a room temperature curing paint resin or baking paint resin.
