Kurihashi [town] - Kurihashi

Japanese: 栗橋[町] - くりはし

A former town in Kitakatsushika District, northeastern Saitama Prefecture. It is located on the alluvial lowland of the Tone River, which flows along the northeastern border. The city center was Ichiba Town, a post town on the Nikko road in the early modern period, and also served as a ferry terminal on the Tone River, called Bosen no Watashi. The town is served by the Tohoku Main Line, the Tobu Nikko Line, and National Route 4. Rice is the main crop, but strawberries, pears, and other crops are also cultivated. In March 2010, it merged with Kuki City, Shobu Town in Minamisaitama District, and Washinomiya Town in Kitakatsushika District. 15.78 ^km2 . Population 26,675 (2005).

埼玉県北東部，北葛飾(かつしか)郡の旧町。北東境を流れる利根川の沖積低地上にある。中心市街は近世日光道中の宿場町，市場町で，房川(ぼうせん)の渡しという利根川の渡船場でもあった。東北本線，東武日光線，国道４号線が通じる。稲作を中心として，イチゴ，ナシなどの栽培が行われる。2010年３月久喜市，南埼玉郡菖蒲町，北葛飾郡鷲宮町と合併。15.78km²。２万6675人（2005）。
