Jellyfish flea (English name) Hyperia galba

Japanese: クラゲノミ（英語表記）Hyperia galba

A marine plankton of the Amphipoda class of the class Malacostraca, family Medusaidae. It is about 1 cm long. Its body is light brown and translucent, dotted with pale red spots. Its head is large, and the eyes take up most of it. Because the eyes are red, the entire head appears red. It is a mid-water pelagic species that lives in coastal waters.
