(1) A thrust booster for jet engines. Fuel is injected into the gas leaving the turbine and reburned to raise the temperature, increasing the heat drop in the thrust nozzle and increasing the jet speed. It can increase net power by up to 40% at takeoff and even more during high-speed flight, but it consumes a lot of fuel and makes a lot of noise when in operation. (2) A video game developed by Sega in 1986. It was popular because it allowed users to experience a jet fighter dogfight.
