Born: December 27, 1914, Momigliano Veneto [Died] November 2, 1978. Rome. Italian novelist. Participated in the Ethiopian War and World War II. Was taken prisoner by the American Army and began writing novels in a prison camp. He started out with a neorealist style, but after a ten-year silence he turned to a psychological nouveau roman.
