Anrakuji Temple (Fukuoka) - Anrakuji

To make up for this, for example, Noriyoshi Isshiki actively carried out land disposals, but this was difficult to do due to the presence of the main powers, so Ryoshun Imagawa widely carried out half-payments on temple and shrine lands and entrusted them to stipend holders, and in particular firmly controlled the Anrakuji Tenmangu Shrine in Dazaifu.
[Measures taken by Imagawa Ryoshun]

…This is said to be the origin of Tenmangu Shrine. Shortly thereafter, the tomb temple, Anrakuji Temple, was also founded, and the temple was integrated with Tenmangu Shrine until the Shinbutsu Bunri Edict was issued in the early Meiji period. The first head priest of the temple was Michizane's grandson, Heitada, and successive head priests were selected from the descendants of the Sugawara clan. …

From Chikugo Province

The vassals of the province included the Kusano, Oki, Kamitsuma, Araki, Yokomizo, Aki (Miike), Sakami, and Nishimuta clans. Many of the manors were Anrakuji estates, such as Aoki, Iwata, Tajima, Iidoku, Mizuta, Nagata, Kusano, Yoshida, and Funakoshi, and many local temple and shrine estates, such as Usamiya estates, Oe estates, Ogawa estates, Kanzeonji estates, such as Oishi estates, Yamakita estates, and Mirokuji estates, such as Kumagami estates, Kamitsuma estates, and Harada estates. In addition, there were other centrally-controlled monryo (domains) such as Mizuma Manor (Hoshogon-in domain), Miike Manor (Konoe family domain), Mihara Manor (Iwashimizu Hachimangu Shrine domain), Takeno Manor (Saidaiji domain), Sanmon Manor (Kujo family domain), and Takara Manor (Chokodo domain).
