In his poetry collection Kaihyo to Kumo (Seal and Clouds), published in 1929, he captured the spirit and rhythm of ancient Japanese Shinto, and in tanka poetry he founded the Tama Tanka Society in 1935 and launched the magazine Tama, contributing to the establishment of a "modern mysterious style."
