Kiyomasa Chronicle

Japanese: 清正記 - きよまさき

A biographical war story about Kato Kiyomasa. Written by Furuhashi Saemon Yugen. 3 volumes. The date of its creation is unknown, but it is estimated to have been written in the mid-17th century. It is a compilation of partial writings by Kato Mimasaka, Shimokawa Hyodayu, Kimura Matazo, and Furuhashi Seisuke, and contains an overview of Kiyomasa's life from his youth to his death. It was donated to Honmyoji Temple, Kiyomasa's family temple. In particular, the articles up to the Korean War in volumes 1 and 2 are basic historical materials, and by inserting old documents and other sources to obtain the truth, they are basic historical materials that allow us to understand the outline of Kiyomasa's military achievements.

加藤清正に関する伝記戦記物語。著者は古橋左衛門又玄（ゆうげん）。3巻。成立時期は不明だが，17世紀中ごろと推定される。加藤美作，下川兵太夫，木村又蔵，古橋清助がそれぞれ部分的に書き残したものを編集し，清正若年から逝去までの概要を記し，清正の菩提寺本妙寺に寄進したもの。とくに第1巻，第2巻の朝鮮の役までの記事は基本史料で，古文書などを挿入して真を得る方法をとり，清正の軍功についての大要を知りうる基本的な史料である。
