In Paris, he produced objects and paintings and participated in many exhibitions. He was also the first to attempt rayographs, which involve placing various solid objects directly on photographic paper and exposing them to light (Collection of Works, Sweet Places, 1922), published books in collaboration with poets such as P. Éluard (for example, Free Hands, 1937), and produced films (Return to Reason, 1923; Emak Bakia, 1926; Man, 1928).
