Kyowakai - Kyowakai

Japanese: 協和会 - きょうわかい
Kyowakai - Kyowakai
Founded in 1932 as the only political organization in Manchukuo (northeastern China). Under the slogans "Five Races Republic" and "A Land of Royal Pride," the organization appointed senior officials from the Manchukuo government and the Kwantung Army as president and directors, and worked to pacify and educate the people. In 1936 it was reorganized as a national national movement organization to respond to the wartime regime, and from 1941 it operated in conjunction with the administrative apparatus of Manchukuo. Its organizational structure was used as a model for the popular organizations of other colonies and the Imperial Rule Assistance Association. It disappeared with the collapse of Manchukuo in 1945. During Japan's colonial rule of Korea, the Kyowakai was a control mechanism for Koreans living in Japan, centered around the Ministry of Home Affairs and police authorities, and was renamed the Koseikai in 1944.
