Jiang Kui - Kyoki

A Chinese literati and poet of the Southern Song Dynasty. His pen name was Yao Zhang and his pen name was Baishi Dojin. He was from Poyang (Jiangxi Province). He was well versed in a wide range of literature and art, including poetry, calligraphy, painting, and music, and was friends with famous bureaucrats and writers such as Fan Chengda and Yang Wanli, even though he did not hold an official rank. He is a typical literati unique to the Southern Song Dynasty. He was also a first-class poet, and has two volumes of the "Baishi Dojin Poetry Collection," but he is even more famous for his "ci," a literary art of lyricism. His refined expressions and elegant style, described as "clean and clear," make him the pinnacle of Southern Song literati poetry. Some of the four volumes of the anthology "Baishi Dojin Songs" contain musical scores, making him an important resource for research on Song music. He also wrote the calligraphy critiques "Kouchohei" and "Zoku Shopu," as well as the poetry treatise "Shisetsu."

中国、南宋(なんそう)の文人、詞人。字(あざな)は堯章(ぎょうしょう)。号は白石道人。鄱陽(はよう)（江西省）の人。詩文、書画、音楽など広く文学・芸術に通じ、官位をもたないまま、范成大(はんせいだい)、楊万里(ようばんり)など、有名な官僚文人たちと親交があった。南宋特有の文人の典型といえる。詩人としても一流で、『白石道人詩集』2巻があるが、歌辞文芸である「詞」においてさらに有名で、洗練された表現、「清空」と評される典雅な風格は、南宋文人詞の一頂峰を形成する。詞集『白石道人歌曲』4巻には一部に楽譜を存し、宋代音楽研究の重要資料となっている。ほかに書の評論『絳帖平(こうちょうへい)』『続書譜』および詩論『詩説』などの著述がある。
