Curie-Weiss law

This law states that the magnetic susceptibility _χm of a ferromagnetic material in a paramagnetic state can be expressed as a function of absolute temperature T as _χm = C /( T - Θ). This law holds true well except in the immediate vicinity of the Curie temperature. C is a material constant called the Curie constant, and Θ is called the paramagnetic Curie temperature and differs from the Curie temperature by only a few degrees. The same law holds true for antiferromagnetic materials, but Θ becomes negative. For ferroelectrics as well, the relationship between dielectric constant and temperature can be written in the form shown above at temperatures higher than the Curie temperature. P. Weiss introduced the concept of molecular fields and derived this law using classical statistical mechanics.
