A manor belonging to Miroku-ji Temple of Buzen Usa Shrine, identified with the northeastern part of Hiyoshi-cho (present-day Hioki City), Kagoshima Prefecture. It can also be read as "heki." It was formed by dividing Hioki County in ancient Satsuma Province. In the 1197 Satsuma Province Map Book, "30 cho of Hioki Manor" appears within Hioki-Hoku-go (Hiyoshi-cho, Hioki City), with Miroku-ji Temple as the lord and Ono Taro Ietsuna as the subordinate. Ono Ietsuna is likely the same person as Oe Ietsuna, who appears as the land steward of this manor in later historical documents. In 1310, Matataro and others who borrowed rice and rice from the land steward of Hioki-Hoku-go fled to Hioki Manor and were sued, and the subordinate Tadazumi of the manor was ordered to repay the pawned property. In 1340, Ashikaga Tadayoshi confirmed Shimazu Munehisa's position as land steward of Hioki Manor, and it is possible that the Hioki Manor mentioned here refers to Hioki Kitago. The subsequent status of Hioki Manor is unknown, but it is assumed that it came to be called Hioki Manor or Hioki together with Hioki Kitago. Hioki Kitago was donated to the regent (Konoe) family by Taira Shigezumi in 1187, and Shimazu Tadahisa was appointed as the soji land steward in 1192. After that, the ruling system was as follows: Honjo Konoe family, Ryoke Nara Kofuku-ji Ichijo-in (after the Jokyu War), Soji Shimazu clan (later Isaku Shimazu clan), and Shimoji Satsuma Heishi clan (of pure lineage). During the Kamakura period, there were repeated disputes between the soji land steward and the ryoke and Shimoji, but it was settled by the Shitajichubun in 1324. During the Nanboku-cho period, the Ijuin clan gained power and fought against the Isaku Shimazu clan. It is believed that from around the Oei period (1394-1428), the area became the property of the main Shimazu family. Source : Heibonsha Encyclopedia About MyPedia Information |
