Equipment that supplies hot water to places where it is needed, such as kitchens, bathrooms, and washrooms in factories, companies, and homes. There are two methods: installing a hot water boiler in one place and piping it to where it is needed, or installing an instantaneous water heater. For household use, instantaneous water heaters that use gas as fuel are widely used, but recently piped hot water supply, in which a hot water supply mechanism is built into a hot water boiler for hot water heating, is gradually becoming more common. Hot water boilers can use gas (city gas or propane gas), kerosene, electricity, etc. as their heat source.

工場や会社，家庭内の台所，浴室，洗面所など必要な場所に温水を供給する設備。1ヵ所に温水ボイラを設け，必要個所に配管して給湯する方法と，瞬間湯沸器を設ける方法とがある。家庭用にはガスを燃料とした瞬間湯沸器が多く用いられているが，最近は温水暖房用の温水ボイラに給湯用の機構を組込んで，配管による給湯が次第に普及している。温水ボイラの熱源にはガス (都市ガスまたはプロパンガス) ，灯油，電気などが用いられる。
