It is also called "conventionalism," "expediency," or in English "conventionalism." It refers to the position that, when discussing the truth of scientific laws and theories, they are understood as the result of an agreement, rather than being sought in the world of objective reality. Kant cannot be called a conventionalist, but Kantian epistemology can be said to have opened up the possibility of a conventionalist position in that it sought objective validity in the form of thought, that is, in categories, which are a form of cognition that belongs to the subjective side.
