Japanese: 吉備泉 - きびのいずみ

743－814 A court noble from the Nara to early Heian period.
Born in the 15th year of Tenpyo. Son of Kibi no Makibi. After serving as Daigaku no Kami (the head of the university) and the head of the construction of Todaiji Temple, he was appointed as Iyo no Kami (the governor of Iyo), but was accused by a subordinate and demoted to Sado Gon no Kami (the governor of Sado) for disrespecting the investigating officer. He was pardoned and became a jutsu sangi (junior councillor) in the first year of Daido, and later a councillor. He died on July 8, leap year of the 5th year of Kōnin. He was 72 years old.

天平(てんぴょう)15年生まれ。吉備真備(まきび)の子。大学頭(かみ),造東大寺長官ののち伊予守(いよのかみ)となって赴任したが,部下に告訴され,その取調官に不敬をはたらいて佐渡権守(ごんのかみ)に左遷。ゆるされて大同(だいどう)元年准参議,のち参議となった。弘仁(こうにん)5年閏(うるう)7月8日死去。72歳。
