An old town in the southeast of Osakikamijima, Toyoda-gun, Hiroshima Prefecture. Kinoe, the center of the town, has a good natural harbor and has long flourished as a key port on the Seto Inland Sea route. Shipbuilding and mandarin orange cultivation on the coastal slopes are thriving. In April 2003, it merged with Osaki-cho and Higashino-cho to form Osakikamijima-cho. 10.13 km2 . 2,744 people (2000).
