Chronology - Kinenron
Discussion on the dates in the Nihon Shoki and the Chinese zodiac sign of the year of the Emperor's death in the Kojiki. Questions about the dates in the Nihon Shoki were raised in the Edo period as well, but it was Naka Michiyo of the Meiji period who took an academic approach to the issue. The dates in the Jingo-ki and Ojin-ki are based on the same Chinese zodiac sign as the Baekje historical source Baekje-ki, which is cited in both chronicles, but there is a difference of 120 years, so Naka demonstrated that the dates in both chronicles were raised by 120 years (two Chinese zodiac signs) (Today, this manipulation of the dates by raising two Chinese zodiac signs is understood to have been done to equate Empress Jingu with Himiko).
