A complex number that gives the relationship between the voltage and current at the terminals of an electric circuit (AC circuit) to which a sinusoidal power source is applied, and is the reciprocal of impedance. Its unit is siemens, and its symbol is S. The voltage and current at the circuit terminals in a steady sinusoidal state have the same frequency as the power source, and only the amplitude and phase change. Therefore, the voltage and current can be expressed in a complex representation called a feather. If such complex representations are V , I , impedance Z , and admittance Y , then Y = 1/ Z = I/ V . In other words, it is the conductance expanded to AC circuits. When the angular frequency of the applied sine wave is ω, the admittance of a capacitor with a capacitance of C is jωC , and the admittance of a coil with a self-inductance of L is 1/ jωL . In the complex representation of the admittance of a circuit, Y = G + jB , the real part G is called the conductance, and the imaginary part B is called the susceptance.
