(Noun) (Translation of Theologie der Krisis) A Christian theology established by Swiss theologian Karl Barth and his followers after World War I. It rejects Christianity as a service to modern, human-centered, progressive civilization, and asserts the restoration of God's absolute transcendence. It reflects the pessimism of the interwar era and had a major impact on the spiritual world of Europe after World War II. It is also called dialectical theology.
