Tantra Buddhism recognizes the female principle of the world as the Prajnaparamita (Buddha Mother, i.e. the wisdom that gives rise to enlightenment), equates it with a living woman (Mahayana), and aims to realize the neutral true existence (enlightenment) by sexually practicing yoga (union) with it. It is usually disliked as a Left-Handed Esoteric Buddhism, but its essence can be seen as a return to the origins of Indian spirituality. In addition, the term Vajrayana (Vajrayana), which means superior to Mahayana, is sometimes used to refer to Esoteric Buddhism, but in Japanese Esoteric Buddhism this refers to Pure Esoteric Buddhism, and in Tibetan Esoteric Buddhism, Tantra Buddhism calls itself that. In Western Buddhist studies, it also refers to Tantra Buddhism in general. *Some of the terminology explanations that mention "Vajrayāna" are listed below.
