A town in the southern part of New Zealand's South Island. Located on the shores of Lake Wakatipu. Gold was discovered in the Shotover River in 1863, and the town once boomed with the gold rush. There are ski resorts scattered around the area, and it is now a popular tourist resort.
A town in the west of Tasmania, Australia. It developed as a mining town from the mid-19th century and became the largest settlement on the west coast of Tasmania. There is a museum showcasing the history of mining. It is connected to the port town of Strahan by a tourist railway running steam locomotives.

オーストラリア、タスマニア州西部の町。19世紀半ばより鉱山の町として発展し、タスマニア島西海岸最大の入植地となった。鉱山の歴史を紹介する博物館がある。港町ストローンとは、蒸気機関車の走る観光鉄道で結ばれる。
