Togou-shi

Japanese: 都甲氏 - とごううじ

A medieval samurai family whose main residence was in Toka Manor, Kunisaki County, Bungo Province (present-day Bungotakada City, Oita Prefecture). The lord of development, Sakon-dayu Minamoto Tsunetoshi, donated the manor to Usa Hachiman Miroku-ji Temple towards the end of the Heian period and was appointed as a manor official. The first document to mention Toka Manor was a March 1161 (Oho 1) Miroku-ji Rususho shibun. Tsunetoshi's daughter married Ogami Sadamasa, the governor of Yamaga District, Hayami County, and their son inherited the manor official position of Toka Manor. For the next three generations, the family bore the surname Ogami, but their illegitimate son, Iezane, took the surname Toka and held the manor official position. It is thought that the head family inherited the position of Yamaga governor, and the illegitimate family inherited the manor official position of Toka Manor.

豊後国国東（くにさき）郡都甲荘(現，大分県豊後高田市)を本貫とする中世の武家。開発領主の左近大夫源経俊は同荘を平安末期ごろに宇佐八幡弥勒寺に寄進し，荘官職に任じられた。都甲荘の文書上の初見は1161年(応保1)3月の弥勒寺留守所下文。経俊の女が速見郡山香（やまが）郷司大神（おおが）貞正に嫁し，その子が都甲荘荘官職を継承した。その後3代は大神姓を称したが，庶子の家実が都甲を姓とし荘官職を保持した。惣領家が山香郷司職を，庶子家が都甲荘荘官職を継承したものと考えられる。
