Kintenjo

…A painter from the mid-Joseon period in Korea. His name was Myeong-guk or Myeong-guk, his pen name was Cheon-ru, and his pen names were Ren-dam and Sui-o. He was a painter at the Togasho (Public Painting Office) and later became a professor. He visited Japan twice, in 1636 (Kan'ei 13) and 1643, as an attendant of the envoys, and made his name in Japan as well. There are many anecdotes that show his bold and carefree personality, and he painted landscapes and figures in the Ikkoku style with a free and free brushstroke.
