[Legend of the Eight Satomi Dogs]
It is a type of Kabuki Kyogen and Ningyo Joruri drama that dramatizes "Nansō Satomi Hakkenden." It began as "Kinkazan Yukinoakebono" at the Osaka Wakadayū Theater in October 1834 (Tenpo 5), which was poorly received and poorly attended. It was followed by "Hana no Ani Tsubomi no Yatsufusa" (8 acts, written by Nishizawa Ippō) at the Osaka Arashi Tachibanakura Theater (the middle play) from January to April 1836, but the second part is said to have been poorly attended. In the Joruri drama, "Hana no Ani Tsubomi no Yatsufusa" (12 acts, written by Yamada Kazanshi) was performed at the Masuya Theater in the Inari Shrine grounds in Osaka in July of the same year, on both the first and second days of the performance, and is an adaptation that is almost faithful to the original storyline.

　歌舞伎狂言，人形浄瑠璃の一系統で，《南総里見八犬伝》を劇化したもの。その初めは1834年(天保5)10月大坂若太夫芝居の《金花山雪曙（きんかざんゆきのあけぼの）》で，これは不評不入り，つづいての36年正月～4月大坂嵐橘蔵座(中の芝居)《花魁莟八総（はなのあにつぼみのやつふさ）》(8幕，西沢一鳳作)も，後編は不入りだったと伝えられる。浄瑠璃では，同年7月大坂の稲荷境内枡屋座《梅魁莟八総（はなのあにつぼみのやつふさ）》(12段，山田案山子作)は初日後日の両日上演で，ほぼ原作の筋に近い脚色である。…
