Gold coin

Japanese:
Gold coin

Coins made of gold. The oldest coins are said to have been cast in the Lydian Kingdom around the 7th century BC, and in Japan, the Tensho Oban coins cast by Toyotomi Hideyoshi are particularly famous for their fineness and size. Under the gold standard system, the actual content of one unit of currency was determined by a certain weight and purity of gold, and the government made coins with a stamp indicating the content and made them specie, but no country currently circulates them. Japan's old Currency Law (Law No. 16 of 1897) stipulated that "750 milligrams of pure gold shall be the unit of price, and shall be called the yen," and three types of gold coins of 20 yen, 10 yen, and 5 yen were produced, and that "gold coins shall be legal tender without any limit on their amount." However, although gold coins were cast, they were rarely circulated in reality.
