One of the former Imperial families. Prince Tomonari, the son of Prince Fushiminomiya Kuniie, founded the family in 1870 and was given the title. It was subsequently passed down to Prince Yoshihisa, Prince Narihisa, and Prince Hisayuki. In 1947, the family left the imperial family and became the Kitashirakawa family. 旧宮家の一つ。伏見宮邦家親王の王子智成 (ともなり) 親王が明治3 (1870) 年,一家を興し,この称を授けられ,以後能久親王,成久王,永久王によって受継がれた。 1947年皇族の身分を離れ,北白川家となった。
