An endorsement in which the endorser writes the endorsement phrase, indicates the name of the endorsee, and signs. It is also called a formal endorsement or a complete endorsement, and is the opposite of a blank endorsement. The endorsement phrase is printed on the unified bill form in advance, and is in the form of an instruction to the person to whom the bill payment is to be made, such as "Please pay the indicated amount to the endorsee listed below or his/her order." The name of the endorsee is sufficient as long as it is clear who the person is. In the case of a company, the name is indicated by the company's trade name, and it is not necessary to indicate the company's representative.

裏書文句を記載し，被裏書人の名称を表示して裏書人が署名する方式の裏書。正式裏書または完全裏書ともいい，白地式裏書に対するものである。裏書文句は統一手形用紙にはあらかじめ刷り込まれており，「表記金額を下記被裏書人またはその指図人へお支払いください」というように手形金の支払いを受ける人を指図する形式になっている。なお，被裏書人の名称の記載はだれであるかわかるような記載があれば足りる。会社の場合には，会社の商号で表示され，会社の代表者を示す必要はない。
