The Tale of the Fiend (English: The Tale of the Fiend)

Japanese: 戯鴻堂帖 - ぎこうどうじょう（英語表記）Xì hóng táng tiè

Dong Qichang, a Chinese calligrapher and painter of the late Ming Dynasty, a theorist and leader of the Yuyuan school, in 1603 (Wanli 31), appraised and engraved this collection of famous names from the two kings of Jin (Wang Xizhi and Wang Huizhi) to Zhao Zi'ang of the Yuan Dynasty. It has 16 volumes. Each volume also includes a postscript by Dong, the contents of the volumes are not necessarily coherent, and there are few excellent calligraphy. Wang Shu harshly criticized it as "the worst calligraphy of all time." It is noteworthy that the "Chengqingtang Collection" is engraved at the end. Many of these were imported to Japan during the Edo period.

中国，明末の書画家，またその理論家，芸苑の指導者でもあった董其昌（とうきしよう）が，1603年(万暦31)に，晋の二王(王羲之，王徽之)から元の趙子昂（ちようすごう）に至る名跡を鑑定して集刻した叢帖。16巻。各帖に対する自跋も併せて刻しているうえ，各巻の内容も必ずしもまとまっておらず，佳拓も少ない。王澍は〈古今第一の悪札〉と酷評している。最後に《澄清堂帖》を刻入しているのが注目される。江戸時代，日本にも多く舶載された。
