A city in the western part of Aichi Prefecture. The ruins of Kiyosu Castle, where Oda Nobunaga lived during the Sengoku period, are located. 愛知県西部にある市。戦国時代に織田信長が居城とした清洲城跡がある。現在は南東に隣接する名古屋市のベッドタウン。平成17年（2005）7月に西枇杷島にしびわじま町・清洲町・新川町が合併して成立。21年（2009）に春日はるひ町を編入。人口6.6万（2010）。
