Year of death: July 11, 1516 (August 9, 1516) Year of birth: 1451 A military commander in the Muromachi and Sengoku periods. He was the son of Uesugi Takatsugu and the daughter of Omori Ujiyori (Yoseian), and was adopted by Miura Tokitaka, lord of Arai Castle in Sagami (Miura City, Kanagawa Prefecture). Miura no Suke, Mutsu no Kami. After his adoptive father Tokitaka gave birth to his biological son Takanori, there was a rift between them, and he fled Miura and entered Sosei-ji Temple in Ashigarashimo County, where he shaved his head and took the name Dosun. However, in September 1494 (Meiō 3), with the support of his retainers and the support of his mother's Omori clan, he killed Tokitaka and Takanori at Arai Castle, succeeded the Miura clan, and made the castle his residence. Later, in order to prevent Hojo Soun's invasion of Sagami, he renovated Okazaki Castle and moved there, and placed his son Yoshinori in Arai Castle. Soun's full-scale conquest of Sagami began around 1510, and in August 1510, Yoshitomo successfully defended against a fierce attack at Okazaki Castle, but was defeated and retreated to Sumiyoshi Castle. He was also defeated in a counterattack called the Kamakura War in January of the following year, and was forced to retreat to Arai Castle, where he is believed to have remained holed up ever since. In the middle of 1513, when Soun and Ujitsuna attacked Arai Castle, his subordinate, Omori Echigo-no-kami, and others urged Yoshitomo to retreat and make a comeback by relying on Takeda Nobukatsu of Mariya, Kazusa, who was Yoshiyoshi's father-in-law, but he did not listen. On July 11, a decisive battle was fought, and both Yoshitomo and Yoshiyoshi were killed, and the Miura clan was destroyed. He was a military commander who cooperated with Sagami Shugo Uesugi Tomooki and resisted Soun's rule of Sagami to the end.
