…(12) Dextrocardia A dextrocardia is a heart in which most of the heart is located in the right thorax and the apex faces right. There are cases in which the left-right relationship of the abdominal viscera and lungs is reversed (mirror image dextrocardia), cases in which the left-right relationship of the abdominal viscera and lungs is normal (isolated dextrocardia), and cases associated with asplenia or polysplenia. The former is often not accompanied by intracardiac malformations, but the latter two are often accompanied by complex and severe cardiac malformations and often present with cyanosis. …
