Ghāzān Khān

Japanese: ガーザーン・ハーン(英語表記)Ghāzān Khān
Ghāzān Khān
1271‐1304
The seventh Khan of the Ilkhanate. Great-grandson of Hulagu. Reigned 1295-1304. He ascended to the throne during a difficult time when the Ilkhanate was facing the threat of internal collapse due to factional strife and financial collapse, and is famous for overcoming that crisis. Upon ascending to the throne, he first calmed the opposing forces and then repeatedly launched expeditions to the enemy Mamluk dynasty to strengthen internal unity. At the same time, he personally planned and carried out the compilation of the History of Mongolia, firmly awakening the loyalty of the tribes under his command to him as the direct descendant of Genghis Khan and the direct descendant of the Hulagu family.
