Kyosho (Era name)

...Then, in 84 (Genchu ​​1, Shitoku 1), the Kōtoku era name was used by some monks in Mount Hiei and Nara, and in 88 (Genchu ​​5, Kakei 2), the Eihō era name was found in parts of Yamato. Both of these are presumed to have been born out of dissatisfaction with the proper era names, against the backdrop of conflicts between the nobles who were in charge of submitting era names during the Northern Court. Then, in the Muromachi period, in 1443 (Kakitsu 3), the Tensei era name was used by surviving retainers of the Southern Court, and in the second half of the 15th century, the Kyosho and Entoku era names appeared under the rule of the Kanto kubo Ashikaga Shigeuji. …ついで84年(元中1∥至徳1)叡山･南都の一部僧侶の使用にかかる弘徳，88年(元中5∥嘉慶2)大和の一部に見られた永宝はいずれも，北朝において年号勘申を担当した公家たちの対立を背景として，正年号に対する不満から生まれたものと推測されている。次いで室町時代に入って，1443年(嘉吉3)天靖の年号が南朝の遺臣の間で用いられ，15世紀後半には関東公方足利成氏の治下で享正･延徳の年号が現れる。いずれも正年号を拒否することで室町幕府に反抗する政治意思がこめられている。…
