...Currently, there are more than 20 Izumi-ryu kyogen performers registered with the Nohgaku Association. The scripts of the school are kept by successive head families and by each of the students, but the oldest is Kyogen Rikugi (commonly known as the Tenribon, created in the early Edo period) kept at Tenri Library, which contains 222 pieces and is a valuable resource that gives a glimpse into medieval kyogen. There are currently 254 pieces, and although there have been changes in the direction since the Tenribon, there have been few changes in the pieces....
