Educational Mission

...The second mission (led by WE Givens and consisting of five people) pointed out in its report that "one of the greatest weapons against Communism in the Far East is an enlightened Japanese electorate," suggesting a shift in education policy in response to changes in the international situation. An educational mission to Germany (led by GF Zuck and consisting of ten people) was sent in 1946. The report shows the high regard the American side had for German culture.
