Under the Imperial Constitution, there were two types of imperial edicts: Imperial edicts (imperial edicts) that "declare important matters concerning the Imperial Family" such as the Imperial edict for the investiture of the Crown Prince, which are issued based on the Imperial House Law and Imperial Household Ordinances, and Imperial edicts (political edicts) that "declare imperial wills concerning the execution of sovereign powers," such as the Imperial edict for the declaration of war, which are issued based on the Constitution and laws (Article 1 of the Official Ordinance).
