...There is a folk song from Mt. Ishizuchi that goes, "There are places where the Sumaru and Kaseboshi can enter, but we don't have the Shiso-boshi (the four-three stars = the Big Dipper) in there." Karasukiboshi (crow star) is another name for the "three stars" of Orion. It appears as "Sanri-boshi" in the 1597 (Keicho 2) "Irinhon Setsuyoshu," and is listed as the Japanese name for Mitsuboshi (triple star) in many "Setsuyoshu" and dictionaries from the Edo period....
