Japanese: 衣脱ぎ朔日 - きぬぬぎついたち
First day of undressing - First day of undressing

...The same story is recorded in the "Soushenji" of the Jin Dynasty in China. June 1st is called "Kinunugi Tsuitachi" (the first day of undressing), and in many regions, people should not go under mulberry trees because snakes and people shed their skin on them. In Higashiuchi, Maruko-cho, Ogata-gun, Nagano Prefecture, people usually avoid walking with a mulberry stick because mulberry trees are used as walking sticks for the dead, but in Ihara Saikaku's "Koshoku Ichidai Otoko," mulberry trees are instead used as walking sticks to celebrate longevity.
