...It is widely distributed in the tropical regions of Asia, and in Japan it is found south of Honshu. In Okinawa and Taiwan, a variety of foxglove called J. procumbens var. riukiuensis Yamamoto is distributed, which has small leaves and slightly wider bracts. In India and Japan, young leaves are eaten and are sometimes used as a folk medicine for rheumatism.
