Kaimyaku
〘Noun〙 The lineage of the transmission of precepts. Generally, it records the lineage of monks who have transmitted precepts since the Buddha. Examples of lineage records using this title include Chinyo's "Hokkechimyaku" and "Gannouji-ryu Kaimyaku." →Kechimyaku (bloodline). *Chawa (1915-30) <Usuda Namizu> Layman and his elder sister: "When I opened the box that my grandmother had treasured all her life, I noticed that the Kaimyaku (precept lineage) had been lost at some point."

〘名〙 戒伝授の血脈。一般には仏祖以来の戒を伝えた僧名の系譜を記す。この称を用いた血脈譜には珍養の「広血脈」や「元応寺流戒脈」などがある。→血脈(けちみゃく)。※茶話(1915‐30)〈薄田泣菫〉居士と大姉「祖母さんが一生の間大事にしてゐた箱を開てみると、何時の間にか戒脈(カイミャク)が紛失(なく)なってゐるのに気が注(つ)いた」
