Kisshoten repents

…Shosekigetsukai is also called Shuseki for short. There is no clear indication of which sutra the Shusekikai was based on, but one theory is that it was an annual Buddhist event based on the Golden Light Sutra and the Golden Light Supreme King Sutra, and the other is that the Kisshoten Keka ceremony at Kokubunji and Kandaiji temples in January of 767 (Jingo Keiun 1) became an annual event. The former is a prayer ceremony in which the Golden Light Sutra and the Supreme King Sutra are recited, and the tradition is long. According to an imperial decree issued in May of 694 (Jitō 8), it came to be held in provincial government offices in various provinces on the first quarter of the new year (the 7th and 8th).
