...The name is derived from the fact that Tsunefusa lived in Yoshida, east of Kyoto, and was called Yoshida. The extant records cover the years from 1173 (Joan 3) to 1188 (Bun'ei 4), but the records in the Yoshibe Hikinsho and Sento Onoiburui-ki cover the years from 1166 (Jin'an 1) to 1198 (Kenkyu 9). Tsunefusa was well versed in historical facts and politics, and played an active role as a capable practical bureaucrat during the Goshirakawa Insei period. He was especially trusted by Minamoto no Yoritomo, who entrusted him with the role of intermediary between the Imperial Court and the Shogunate. ...
