The core company of the Furukawa Group, whose main businesses are civil engineering and construction machinery and copper smelting. It took over the personal business of Furukawa Ichibei, which accounted for half of the nation's copper production at the time in Ashio and other areas, and changed its organization to Furukawa Mining Company in 1905 and Furukawa General Partnership in 1911.
