...A general term for nematodes of the Meloidogyninae subfamily that form nodules on the roots of plants. This includes many of the most agriculturally important nematodes, such as Meloidogyne haplo , which is common in cooler regions, and M. incognita , which is common in warmer regions. Many crops are affected, including carrots, lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, sweet potatoes, and apples.
