Kita Shichidayu Osayoshi

Japanese: 北七大夫長能 - きたしちだゆうおさよし

1586-1653 Oda-Toyotomi - A shite Noh actor from the early Edo period.
Born in Tensho 14. Son-in-law of Konparu Yasuteru. He began performing Noh at the age of seven and was called Nanatsudayu. He was adopted by Kongodayu Yaichi and succeeded Kongodayu in Keicho 10. He sided with Toyotomi in the Summer Siege of Osaka, but in Genna 4 he was allowed to found the Kita school by Tokugawa Hidetada. He passed away on January 7, Joo 2. He was 68 years old. He was from Izumi (Osaka Prefecture). His other name was Roppeita. His Buddhist name was Gankei.

天正(てんしょう)14年生まれ。金春安照の娘婿。7歳で能をまい,七ツ大夫とよばれる。金剛大夫弥一の養子となり,慶長10年金剛大夫をつぐ。大坂夏の陣では豊臣方に荷担したが,元和(げんな)4年徳川秀忠より喜多流の創設をゆるされた。承応(じょうおう)2年1月7日死去。68歳。和泉(いずみ)(大阪府)出身。別名に六平太。法名は願慶。
